Ruth Hesse embraces the spontaneous and painterly technique of monotype in her original prints. Says the artist: "I am process driven, focusing on color and texture. To me, a successful print conveys a sense of effortlessness. If my prints are “about” anything, they are about my relationship to expectations. Working intuitively opens me up to the possibility of serendipity, and is more gratifying than having a rigid goal in mind."
Hesse's work is distinguished by rich color, unique textures, and ambitious scale. Viewers are entranced by the many layers visible in the surface of these unique prints. All works are one-of-a-kind and printed by the artist in her Seattle studio. Please inquire for additional examples.
